Something About Karen
Karen began dabbling in the art of homemaking at a very early age. As the only sister to 5 brothers, her younger years were spent in the kitchen and at the sewing machine. She may have been cooking for others, but sewing was purely for her and for fun. She found out with a little ingenuity and skill, even a kid can create the latest fashions right at home.
As the years went on, Karen couldn't help but share these skills
with her own family as well. She delighted in cooking for her family
of 5, and the occasional neighbor kid, each night. Karen also found
herself sewing for her children, their friends, their friends'
friends, the neighbor lady, then the girl down the street that
wanted the perfect prom dress, and well, a business was born.
After years working in the food industry in Ann Arbor, Karen Lucas Fine Sewing was started out of the area's need for such a service and a desire to work once again from home (the place that inspired her work in the beginning.) Now, after many years of experience and success, Karen wishes to share with you all she has learned about the art of making a home.
